Stage 1. Usability Audit

Conducted a comprehensive usability audit of the existing app using heuristic evaluation, user interviews, and performance analytics. Identified friction points in navigation, goal tracking, and social engagement, uncovering key areas for improvement to enhance the overall user experience.

Stage 2. Design Strategy

Developed a redesign strategy prioritizing simplified user flows, clearer goal-tracking visualizations, and new features to foster community engagement. Created a detailed roadmap with short-term fixes and long-term enhancements to guide the redesign process.

Stage 3. Prototype Development

Wireframing: Redesigned core screens and user flows to create a more intuitive, goal-oriented experience.

High-Fidelity Prototyping: Built detailed prototypes in Adobe XD, showcasing improved functionality and interactivity.
UI Design: Revamped the visual identity with vibrant colors, motivating typography, and iconography tailored to the app’s audience, ensuring both aesthetics and usability.

Stage 4. User Feedback & Refinement

Shared prototypes with my peer community in the Google UX program for feedback. Iteratively refined the interface based on insights, improving usability, clarity, and engagement for the target users.

Stage 5. Documentation

Compiled comprehensive documentation detailing research findings, design decisions, and iterative changes. Reflected on the design process to identify lessons learned and areas for future improvement.

Outcomes

Peer feedback highlighted the redesigned app’s improved usability and intuitive design. This project strengthened my skills in user research, iterative design, and collaboration, reinforcing the importance of user-centered thinking in creating engaging and effective digital experiences.
